"I’ve lived in Stockingford for over 4 years. I’m standing because like a lot of people, I’m frustrated with the current direction of the town. The town centre is being ignored while developers build homes on the green belt that are unaffordable to most people in Nuneaton who are struggling to get by.
More needs to be done to bring jobs into the town so people don’t need to commute out at great cost to themselves. I’m fed up of reading about distribution parks being proposed at places like Magna Park and Hinckley, but no realistic option to get there unless expensively running a car, which can be a crippling financial burden.
More jobs on our doorstep means less need to drive and less congestion. Our town centre should be a focus, not housing on the green belt or distribution parks that suit the owners’ convenience while ignoring the needs of the workers."
